Hi, I am trying to track down which issue of the magazine had the article titled “Straightening Framed Walls” in it. Does anyone remember. Thanks

For his benefit and the benefit of others..........
How'd you come up with that?
And, is there still an index online of past issues? If he had the number or date he could check his collection.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

FineHomebuilding.com has a very handy index to magazine articles. Sure beats thumbing through a stack of annual indexes.
Go to "Magazine" in the pale blue line under the masthead above, and click on "Magazine extras." Then in the new window, go to "Magazine index" in the left hand column.
Or, here's a direct link that should get you there:

That white search bar directly under the masthead in the upperleft of the screen that can only be used for the FHB site and not for a BT search.
I copied 'Straightening Framed Walls' into it and it came up with a number of similar topics, I'm supposing that used those words somewhere in the body of the articles.
Scrolling down the list of articles the search words were seen in the main title and thus the journey ended.

The problem with the archive is that it does not give the issue. But with the exact title and also the authors name it should make it easier to find the article in the index.

Thanks for all your advice. I have tried all of your suggestions but could not find the magazine number. I tracked down the article to the online forum that you have to subscribe to. I have the article somewhere in my house. I was just hoping the index would help. I am sure I am doing something wrong. It is the first time I am using the index.

133http://www.taunton.com/store/pages/fh_toc_133.aspThe index is real screwed up.Using the topics S - nonething, W -> Walls - many hits but none on this subject, F -> again many hits but none on this subject.Put in Straightening in the index search and got a list.Click on each on. One for Ceilign and one for Trusses on page 67. apparently they are sidebars to the main article..

Thanks guys, I found it under straightening. It shouldn't be that hard. Also it was hard to find the index. I bookmarked it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to find it again.
Thanks again
Randy
Randy, I'm sorry, I figured the answer was somewhere there in the links posted.
I tried everyway I know and what used to work with the Mag. index now seems to go direct to the online article. What a backward inconsiderate money grubbing way to go..........
I don't know when the last index was included in the mags (it's ended) but if you have the approximate idea of time of article, I'll try to look it up here at home.
sorry.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.
