Anyone know if there is a current copy of the International Residental Code (IRC) posted on the web that I can do a word or code search on?
Listeners write in about ventilation and radon control and ask questions about tightening basement garages, ventilation solutions, and safer paint stripper.

There are lots of sites. In my research, I have found that everybody wants money for the information. Most of what I have found for free is basically useless or worded in needlessly imprecise technical jargon.
People want to comply with the IRC. They want to use the power of the web to do it. Others know that and want to make a profit.
Play the sucker game if you have the bucks. I think you can find out what you need by other means. If you have to pay, pay somebody local who you know to be a valid authority, such as an engineer or architect (if they are also not on the ripoff bandwagon). What did we do before the net?
I believe information such as the IRC should be available on the web for free as a matter of public interest.
I got a library up the street but it would be nice to have a free searchable one that I can access from anywhere i travel....guess I'll have to finally break down and go buy my own copy.
hey maybe taunton/fhb should put one up for us....sure would be nice.

Thanks. Downloaded smooth no problem.....guess I better get to reading.
I bought to different versions from bookstores, and found them to be useless, mostly concerned with handicapped access and fire codes - relatively little I could use.
Read before buying.
