My local Town Council office asked me today if I knew where to get those “mail slots” (I don’t know the proper name) that go in walls. I’ve never heard of ’em to go in walls but I have seen those that go in doors. The thing I’m searching for has a rectangular shape with a little lift up flap whereby a person can drop in papers/envelopes through a narrow slot. I did find some from an internet company that sells old fashioned replicas. only thing is they have doorbelss built into them. These ain’t exactly what I’m looking for.
Being from a small town the local hardware store doesn’t carry everything. So folks I’m asking if any of you know some internet company that sells these items.
Thanks kindly
Paul

A google search for 'mailbox', 'mail slots' or 'letter slots' will turn up more options that you care to think about.

Heck, if a small town hardware store doesn't have them then you don't need them.
Thanks for no help Dan with that answer. Small town hardware stores can't stock everything as there is not enough population to do the buying. These hardware stores stock basic building/hardware supplies plus a little more.

paul, most of the remaining small town hdwr's I've found have an extensive catalogue to pick from.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

I've found that your small-town HW stores are often better stocked that "big city" ones. Of course, half of their stock is 40 years old, but most building technology doesn't change that fast.

You'll get lots of hits if you google "mail slot". Here's one of the top ones, looks like they have lots of different kinds.

I thought that Renovators supply also had a selection, but I'm not finding any online. I'll check my catalog when I get home - I'm sure there are a few more places out there that have them. Of course, it might also be the exact same stuff as from House of Antique Hardware,
