I have to cut some large curves to cut on a bandsaw for a project (curved laminated timbers in white oak) so I made infeed and outfeed tables that look like ironingboards.
The bandsaw table is 44-1/2″ off the floor…don’t have any other benches, outfeed stands, etc. that go that tall. The new tables should come in handy in the future for bandsaw work and other stuff…maybe even ironing…naaaah…well perhaps for waxing skis.
Sometimes setup seems to take almost as long as the project. ;o)

That's great! I guess you swap them side-to-side to go from convex to concave?

You got it.Forrest, you often put more time and thought into preparing for jobs than most people, but you seem to get paid back nicely...that's what I'm hoping for.Did you see the Spindle Sander Table I built last week?I like lopping off the corners of work tables and rounding over the edges...for the sake of hips and other parts.
Looks good - I've always wanted a spindle sander. I was sanding some inside curves this afternoon, and had to use the backside of a curved sanding block.

The Spindle Sander was only about $80 and I had store credit...uh...so it was "free"...sorta.It should come in very handy this week...finally doing the train station brackets. The Performax brand is known for sanders, and I've heard this one works well (made by the same company as Jet, Wilton, etc.). This one is a cheap, Made in China, tool--so I'll be curious to see how it holds up.Building the top for the sander table, I thought, man--too bad I don't have the spindle sander set up so I can smooth out the inside of the spindle sander table opening! <G>

I hear you on the safe corners. I round everything I can, to protect those hips, etc that you allude to.Very cool how you got three setups out of the same two tables. That's using your noggin.Bill
Thanks Bill,I do like to build options into the infrastructure. Heck, now I just need a few bar stools and I can have all y'all over for happy hour...the concave feed setup looks good for social gatherings.I dig clipped corners and round overs.
sometimes it's easier to put the bandsaw on wheels ..
Yep...sooner or later all my shop stuff will be on wheels...I am a big fan of the wheel.
That doesn't look like "extreme ironing" to me. How about this.
