Hello,
Love them ajustable electrical boxes just a couple of things to watch out when attaching drywall around these adjustable boxes, mostly for you diyers. I am sure the pros know this already
1) Do not fasten (Put a drywall screw) the drywall too close to them, chances are the thick metal plate that wraps around the stud will cause a ridge in the drywall if the drywall is fasten to close to0 the box.
2) Check that the box clears the drywall (ie bring the box out slowly) and trim the drywall if it interfers with the box. Just finished painting the last room in basement and was installing the outlets. The boxes still needed to come out to sit flush with the drywall. In my haste I didnt check that the box would clear the drywall and ended up taking the top corner of the drywall out. So now I am patching and repriming and painting again…

Although I couldn't use one for a thermostat because the screw housing interferes on the adjustment side. It's funny, because GFCIs slipped in without a hitch. The only other complaint is that the tabs in back of the single gang boxes are chintzy and want to knock out completely, rather than function as a cable grip. I was using the blue Carlon boxes - I wonder if the Veco boxes are better?
These were real sweet for wiring up my shop, because I didn't (and still don't) know what thickness my wall is going to be. Basically, whatever sheet good I can get a decent deal on. Good tip on the drywall - I'll remember that!
I also liked that it's easy to adjust them and slip insulation behind them.
