I am restoring a large house that suffered a major fire over the winter. The rear porch roof is nearly flat. It has pine T&G sheathing covered by old tar & gravel covered by a vinyl cover. My plan is to remove all of the vinyl, tar and gravel – reframe the damaged areas and sheath with the pine T&G again. Question – what is the best roofing material to go on the roof deck? The job is in N. Virginia so we have hot, cold, snow, wind etc. I have heard of Rhino roofing but don’t know anything about it. Any suggestions?

Don't use Rhino or MuleHide over wood. Use Seal-O-Flex! I have done an addition on my SIL's house in Arlington with that, plus my house near Atlanta, plus my FIL's rental house in Southern MD, plus some others. Zero problems, and easy to do. No one north of Richmond seems to stock it, though.
