I can’t find the model number of the certain Lufkin Red End Ruler I had.
It’s yellow brass hinges with a slide extention. Very similar to x46 model.
The model I used to have (and become desperately used to) was an inside read AND an outside read at the same end So, if you extended the 6 foot ruler all the way, it started at “1” the same end (the end with the extention) no matter if you rolled it over.
The hardware store I had bought it has closed. I’ve searched online but I can’t seem to locate it. If you know the model please post a reply.

Go to the bottom of the page and look at wood rules.

Thanks, but I have looked here before. It's still not clear if the x46F is what I am looking for. I wonder if the still make the model I had.

Online RetailerI don't get the difference to the x46 and this one. Looks like what you are talking about. I think they screwed up the pics.[email protected]
I may have one somewhere that I purchased by mistake.
If I think of it I will look for it.
I don't understand the purpose though.

There is no purpose other than it is what have used for years and have become very used to. The other models that are outside or inside read only are fine, but drive me nuts.
I am a finish carpenter and rarely use a tape measure. It's just a quirk.
I learned with the wooden ruler as i used to work with my dad and older guys and they had no tapes, I cant read the numbers anymore where the joints are however, I always keep a wood ruler with me though
IT IS A RULE; NOT A RULER.
OK i stand corrected
