They told me it was only for the prevention of disease.
And it did look very SAFE to me -- kinda like those plastic wrappers for $10 rolls of quarters.
But I find risky behavior very exciting!

I think the purpose of the sleeve is that they write your subscription expiration date on it knowing that you'll throw it away. Then, when the letter to renew your subscription comes, you go, "Darn, when does mine expire?", forgetting that it's good for another ten months. Of course, if it were Golf Digest, you can renew at the normal rate, but if you were a new subscriber you could do it at half that plus a golf tips video. Faithful subscribers always get screwed.
