There was a thread a while back that covered magnetic sweepers. I need one 2-3 feet wide with wheels suitable for cruising thru dirt, grass, gravel, etc. and picking up loose nails. Whatcha got, where’d ya get it, and does it work well? Tried searching but all I got was WHAT SIZE COPPER PIPE FOR SEC.

david,
Try roofing supply houses. They are commonly used with big roofing jobs.

You don't know how to use Search.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
You know I'm kidding, right? I guess not...
Try to find a farriers (horse shoer) supply place. Every farrier I've ever known has used some kind of magnetic pickup thingy and a couple of them used one like you've described.

or - a few old speaker magnets stuck on a stick and broom handle.
Also use my truck tires to find loose nails ------ >:(
Edit PS: The left front truck tire seems to work exceptionally well for picking up single stray nails.
