A simple but important question. What is the best finish for exterior T&G magony porch flooring? How often should it be coated? Also…are there any flashing details that would allow me to put molding on the exposed butt ends to avoid capturing water between the butts and the molding?

I agree with the esteemed Sphere, Penofin is a great choice. Very easy to apply.
It's not a shiny end result, more of a flat surface. Good for decks, and porches.
If you want something with sheen, I wouldn't know what to tell you. Except that it's going to be a whole lot more time and money! Boat guys might be a good resource for a glossier finish.
(EDIT: But now THIS one DOES?!?! WTF?)

Waterlox Original Marine Finish. Made for decks. Seal it first with Waterlox Original Sealer Finish, then mop on the Marine. Very forgiving stuff, long open time, no brush marks. On smooth surfaces, I use a lambswool applicator on the end of a threaded broom pole. Absolutely beautiful results.
