Is there a certain way for the main runners to start out and clip together when putting in a drop ceiling?
I want to put in 2 x 2 tiles in a 7 x 7 bathroom.
Thanks

I'd run two main runners down the room 1 and 1/2 feet off opposite walls (four feet apart). Then fill in with the shorter pieces.

Oh yeah, I would cut the main runners so that there are attachment points for the shorter pieces 1 and 1/2 feet off the other walls.

Yeah, but do you run them in the 7 foot direction or the 7 foot direction?

"Yeah, but do you run them in the 7 foot direction or the 7 foot direction?"Well, since he's using 2x2 tiles, you run the mains in the 7 foot direction. Now if he was using 2x4 tiles, then it would be different.

I think that they should be run on the diagonal. They do that for floor tile, don't know why not for ceiling tile..
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
That should look pretty good. As long as you make sure you run the diagonals the same direction as the floor tile.SamT
Its a small bathroom, why not step back into the 80's and do a custom sized "Tetris" ceiling?
Well, not really the thing for one's first suspended ceiling. Maybe second or third.

On a 7x7 bathroom you shouldn't have to clip any main T's together, I think they come in 10-12' lengths.
Install your wall angle, measure your ceiling and layout on one of the T's so that the cut tiles on each end will be the same size. Be sure to cut each main the same way. This will insure that that your cross T's will be straight.
