Canadians might like to check out Rona if you need a saw at the moment. My local store had a pallet of Makita 5007NB circ saws for $99 today. I know the tools dept head pretty well, he said the store makes a buck per saw at that price. Whilst I find the Makita design is lacking in a few details (shoe is thin and eventually bends, blade guard hangs up on narrow cuts or 45’s, depth of cut adjustment gets stiff and hard to use over time), they are strong and dependable. At that price, I grabbed one so I can let the apprentice mess with it while my PC stays pristine. It will eventually replace the old Skil I use for cutting masonry and stucco, that one is just about pooched.

That's a good framer's saw. I've used one for many years. The table issue isn't really an issue. If it bends easily, it'll bend back straight easily too. Just whack it with a hammer.
I'm now using the 15amp version of that saw. I prefer the lever on the front for making the angle adjustment.

Blue,
I've used the Makita lots over the years too, the company probably owns 70-80 of those saws, although they have most of the other brands out there too. I've come to prefer the PC best of all with the Makita second. I have PC left and right blade saws, and I did indeed pick up a Makita on the weekend for later needs. It will stay in its box for now but will be used when I need to start supplying tools for a crew.Lignum est bonum.
