I would like feedback from people using Makita Table Saw 2702-3 – how they like it and how it compares to the 2708W, if you’ve used them both. At Amazon tool site, they gave the 2702-3 a 4-star rating, but the reviews seemed mixed. I currently have a Rousseau 2700D saw stand and would have to upgrade to 2700XL for the newer Makita.

I'm not sure about specific model, but we've used the Makita portable now for 7 years and that sucker just keeps on runnin'. No matter how hard we try, we can't seem to break that saw. Through getting thrown into the trailer, dropped off a truck and generally abused, the Makita brand table saws seem to hold up.

*I love my makits...couldn't tell you what number it is...but best portable I have used.L
*Gordon- I use the hell out of my makita- 6 years of saw torture- never a problem. Don't know the model-portable...
*I had a makita portable table saw as well. Like the others, I can't remember what model it was. But I can tell you that I loved it. Not only that, but when it was onsite, everyone else used mine instead of thier own. Some of them really beat the heck out of it too.It was one of the tools that 'disappeared' when I broke my back. (Along with my belt sander, my small makita corded saw, [small blade, but the blade was on my side of the saw, and it tore through everything like cutting hot butter], and my red makita reciprocating saw. Lots of other tools were stolen then, but those are the ones I miss the most.
*I've been using a Makita 10" portable saw for the last year. Great jobsite saw. Only a couple of drawbacks I have found. The dust tube at the rear of the saw won't take a standard hose, have to jury rig something or get the adapter from Makita( about $6)and when the rip fence is locked down close to the blade, the handle blocks the crank for blade elevation.
*Love ours too, agree that the only problem seams to be the handle as Bill mentioned. Sure wish it had a fence like the dewalts ( rack and pinion)
