Any opinions on the pros/cons on Marley cellular vinyl pvc trim vs Azek cellular vinyl pvc trim? Need a bunch of 1×6 material for watertable trim, etc., either is very expensive but availible in my area, so got to do it right the first time. Plus any recomends for a better alternative material.

Does Marley make 1x6? I thought they made mouldings & window parts only. As far as AZEK, pretty good stuff. The only objection I get on it is because each piece is cut from a sheet rather than being a single extrusion, the edges are not as smooth. That's to be expected with any open cellular type product though. There's a good article in the current JLC by a builder who uses it in coastal applications & loves the stuff. You can link to it from JLCOnline.com.

Read the JLC article, especially like the fact that they glue the seams with pvc cement, like plumbing pipe! But they do state that they automatically paint the trim.. I don't know about that. Vinyl expands and contracts alot, I'm lucky that my trim color is white, think I'll leave the trim ala nude.
Some of the Home Depots in my area (VA. Beach, Va.) carry a small selection of Marley trim pieces, such as 3/4 x 3 1/2 ,etc. along with their garage/door/window trim. The spec sheets posted near the display shows quite a varity of products, also they have a website. their 1 x 6 cat. # is MM 7311.
I'm installing vinyl siding to my slab foundation house, am going to use a piece of 1 x 6 ( of either material) as a watertable trim, topped off with a vinyl drip-edge underneath the first starter course of siding, so that I don't have the siding too close to the ground (weedwacker-proof plus it looks better).
P.S. From the quotes I've gotten so far, the Azek is less expensive.
