I’ve got +/- 1000 sf of white oak flrs that need sanding, staining, and refinishing to match an old dark (very dark) cherry finish on adjacent flrs. I doubt I’m going to get a dark enough finish w/a typical stain, and I don’t believe an aniline dye is going to look right. Is there some semi-opaque cherry stain out there which will give me the darkness I want, without entirely hiding the grain?
