I have 7/8″ board sheathing to infill on a big window replacement. I normally double up some plywood to get there, anyone else have a better idea? Cedar shingles will be going up over this, which I’ve never felt comfortable nailing over 1/2″.

Got any rough-cut mills near you? I get rough-cut hemlock boards from a local mill that are about that thick. Or a layer of 1/4" ply, followed by a layer of 3/4". Or rip some 3/16" shims on the table saw, tack them up, then 3/4" ply.
