my exterior walls are 2×4 with inch and a half styrofoam for sheathing. the wall cavities are completely spray foamed. after cutting the opening for the patio doors (and deck) i need to reroute the receptacle wires i yanked out, and i also want to run some speaker wires and wire for 3 wall sconces to light the deck. if i start cutting channels in the spray foam to run the wires, can i just use the expansion foam in the cans to fill in the voids i created, or will that ruin the integrity of the spray foam. the spray foam guy wont come out for such a small job. a spit, i believe he called it

Yep, spray foam, then (after the foam has thoroughly set) shave off level with a flexible serrated bread knife. (Or, as I discovered recently, a flexible dovetail saw like http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=523&BASE works well for shaving the foam.)
thanks dan, sometimes just need some reassurance
