I just received 36 new Windsor Pinnacle Series windows for our new house and nearly every one has smudges and what appears to be glue on the glass. I cleaned them all with window cleaner, and the thin spots rub off, but there are many windows with smears that won’t come off without lots of rubbing, and small spatters, too.
These windows are very well made, but I wasn’t expecting this. I mean, if you spend $15,000 on a new car, you wouldn’t expect to have to take it home and wash and wax the thing before you can use it. And don’t worry I’m not a clean freak, these windows look like they were assembled by little kids with some oatmeal on their fingers.
The dealer is coming to look at them today and I’d like to know if anyone else has seen this before and if I should just get out the razor blade and get to work myself.
Thanks for all you guys’ wisdom, I’ve learned SO much here.

I'd argue for a back charge if you have to spend a lot of time cleaning them. Dirt is one thing -- stuff gets dirty, fine. Glue and sticky stuff all over the place is another thing.

Be very careful about scraping windows with a metal blade. Tempered glass is especially risky. Scratches may not be visible until the glass is seen with the right light thru it. Let the window rep figure it out and take care of it.
TW,
I gave up a long time ago trying to clean new windows. At the owners expense I will hire a professional window cleaner or they can arrange that on their own. It took me quite awhile to get to this point. I used to clean them myself. However, in the Arizona sun I never could get them streak free. Good luck dealing with the manufacturer (eye roll).Mark
