I’ve got some metal plate trusses that have been up about 5 weeks, only partially decked. The tails are hanging out uncovered and are starting to discolor (blackish stains) as is the CDX plywood decking were the rain has leaked through. The truss manuf. says no problem. Chords are Southern Yellow Pine and they’ve had other trusses in the yard for up to three months before without structural damage. I’d just like to hear some other opinions, based on knowledge or experience. They will probably be uncovered another 2-3 weeks until the remainder of the roof system arrives. Thanks for your input.

Eric - I doubt your trusses have sustained any damage up to this point. The lumber may discolor, but that in itself doesn't indicate any rot.
The main thing to watch out for in the short term is the plates backing out. If the lumber repeatedly expands and contracts (Due to getting wet and drying out) the plates can be forced out of the wood.
If the plates back out enough to slip a dime under all the edges, then you have problems. (But nothing that can't be fixed)
