I’ve got a home with brick veneer that is failing on one wall (sagging and pulling away from the sub). Seems like it is going to require some real effort to repair, and I don’t like it anyway, so I’m thinking of ditching it all. I’m looking at new sidings and such, and in my search kept bringing up providers of metal roofing, and it seems like an interesting alternative if it is workable. Any experience with, or opinions about, the suitability of these materials to a siding application? It will look a bit unusual, but I can live with that. Some manu’s (when giving roof specs) recommend sheathing, some don’t, but that can be dealt with. I’ve seen it in bulk in 10×3 sheets, but I’m thinking the main problem will be fitting to doors and windows . . . .?
