I am working on a design for a home on the coast where there is wind-driven rain and wild fire risk. Corrosion is a serious problem so I have been looking at 300 Series Stainless Steel and Copper for a standing seam hip roof. The material price of 316 Stainless is much less than Copper, though probably more expensive to fabricate.
Any suggestions as to material, technique, suppliers, underlayment, and thickness? Roof will be SIPs on 2x T&G and timber beams.
