What is the best way to fasten a metal stud track beneath the HVAC ductwork in my basement?(…the metal stud partition wall that I am refering to is already up and fastened to the concrete and both sides of the wood ceiling joist) In retrospect I probably should have boxed around the d/w w/the OSB prior to framing that particular partition wall…but I didn’t. Please help….any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Joe.

I would not fasten to the ductwork. And leave an expansion gap between your framing and the ductwork or you might hear the twangs when the duct heats up or cools down. Just my HO.
