It is time for me to select a couple of pre-hung interior doors for my remodeling project, but having a hard time finding high quality doors. I am looking for a very heavy weight, paint grade raised panel style door….either good quality solid core or solid wood I guess. Everyplace I look seems to have a plethora of hollow core doors or crummy quality solid core doors. My local lumber yard can special order anything I ask for, but they have nothing on display for me to feel the heft of it.
What manufacturers make good quality interior doors? or what product lines within the big manufacturers are good quality? I wish there was a website that ranked doors by weight and construction.

Just tell your supplier -- the lumber yard -- that you want a six panel all pine stain grade door.
I know that you said that you will be painting it. But if you order stain grade, you'll get the quality and the 'heft' that you are looking for. Be sure to order the correct jamb width, or some extensions if needed.
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.
pine or solid masonite, make sure there's three hinges on it some cheepies are coming out w two hinges, harder to shim out and get clean reveal when hanging if painting, a pre-primed unit eliminates some work
