I’m looking for some feedback on Miligard Windows.
I have a friend building a upper bracket home in the Seattle area overlooking the waterways. The site sits high on a bluff with west exposure. The builder is intending to use Miligard Windows and my friend turned to me asking what I heard and thought about them. I’ve never speced out Miligard in the midwest and do not know much about them besides what’s on their website.
I’d appreciate any info from anyone that has had any experience with Miligard Windows, good or bad.

I used http://www.milgard.com for replacement windows in a modest SoCal tract home about ten years ago and they've served very well. It's a solid vinyl window, not in the same league with vinyl clad wooden windows from Andersen or Pella.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know.
You're welcome. Are you an aficionado of the ukulele? ~!~
I use to play the violin in grade school, and I faked the guitar at summer camps.
Uke is actually short for Ukrainian.

The finest carpentry I've ever seen can be found at St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Glen Spey, NY, a small Ukrainian community near the upper Delaware river.

I recently installed 5 Milgard windows in our basement, top of their line with fiber glass cladding over fir--I've been extremely happy with them, and although we didn't paint the fiber glass cladding, it can be painted unlike vinyl, and at least at the time, Andersen wasn't offering fiber glass and we wanted the option to paint since I hate the look of white vinyl. Also, fiber glass is much stronger. From everything I've heard and after having them for a year, they're top quality.
Thanks for adding your experience with Milgard's fiberglass clad windows. I haven't seen them yet so your report, the first I've read, has raised my interest a lot.
Milgard has been around the PNW for years. Good windows IMO.
Not equal to the top of the line woood windows , but good value for the $
GO FOR IT...
they work as advertised...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Hey I'm half Ukrainian, don't know which half though.
I put Milgard vinyl in my house replaced the 1966 aluminum double rattlers, no troubles work great. Also put in a slider and it has performed well for the 10+ years it's been there. Only complaint is a slight yellowing of the slider white vinyl, but it does get direct southern exposure here in the Tri-Cities.
I'm doing another remodel and replacing some 30+ year old Anderson windows, having a hard time deciding what to buy. Wanted to look at Marvin but nobody is a dealer on this side of the state. So I have been looking at the Milgard top of the line Ultra? The fiberglass sounds good, also for me there is a huge dealer so any problems could be taken care of.

Milgard gets a top rating from JD Powers (consumer satisfaction),
along with Andersen. You hear a wide variety of comments about
their windows, but their FG windows are widely praised (with the
exception of the doublehungs). I personally think Milgard has a
fairly poor fit and finish and uses poor hardware, leaving a
cheesy overall impression.

Milgard are pretty common here. I believe they have a lifetime warranty. Our house has Milgard vinyl retro'd by the previous owner and I will end up dumping them when I can.
