Hello to all,
Growing up in rural central Rhode Island, I can remember at least two houses in the area that had a MINI HOUSE mounted on a platform in the front yard. The houses were identical to the real house that was right behind it in nearly every detail.
I guess you could call it a model but wondered if it was a common practice anywhere else and what the deal was with them.

A place for the kids to wait for the bus.
Around here in NW Oh there are a few, but seldom matching the details on the house.
There's a very detailed birdhouse on a pole in front of a house up the river. A very nice touch.
A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

'Round here, every now and then, I see a cutesy mailbox built to match the house. I guess as long as you have a Postmaster Approved box somewhere in the bowels of whatever you put on the post, it's okay with the Postal Service.
