I have a Makita LS1013F scm saw. The other day I checked it for accuracy and noticed tha it was a little out of wack. So I made some adjustments to get it to cut a 90. Then I turned the saw to 45 and checked that. It was good so I moved the indicator on the saw table to the 45 mark. Next I turned the saw back to 90 and the indicator was on the mark. So I turned the saw to 45 on the other side of 90 and the checked to cut. It was good, but the indicator was not on the 45 mark.
I have went around and around trying to get the indicator to line up as well as the saw to cut the correct angle. I can’t seem to get both things to happen.
What would cause this? What can I do about it?

Are the two fences in alignment? And did you check 90 with the work on each fence?
The pointers on any saw I would take with a grain of salt.
When I adjust, I get a good 90 deg cut with the one fence, line the other fence up with that. Take the work, put it on the other fence and cut again. Check to confirm the true cut. This is on a Hitachi. Don't have experience with the Makita.

Is the 10" scms from hitachi adjustable? I think mine is now off a little and I have a crown job to do and I want it accurate.
Headstrong, I'll take on anyone!
I have the 8-1/2. On the older 10's the fences were the same-two bolts hold them to the table. That's the adjustment I make. The detents are set to each other (the table), you bring the fence to be right with it.

Can the scale be moved in or out, toward or away from the axis of rotation?
Ron
I will give that a try. I don't think they can, but I will try that.
Thanks
Have you checked the book that came with it? Adjustments have to be done in a certaain order to avoid chasing your own tail. If you lost the instructions, you can find it online again.
