I’m going to be installing a mod bit on my roof with a 3:12 slope and I would like to utilize a ridge vent. Is this possible with a modified system?
Thanks,
John

Using my climate as my reference, I would not use a ridge vent. You also may want to consider a ventless roof assembly, but details have to be right on to achieve proper performance. I’ve had problems with ridge vents on low pitched roofs as the wind often drives snow and rain into the vent creating leaks. Also, low pitch roofs can’t utilize the stack effect of venting like steeper pitches. If you want a vented assembly best to use gable wall vents on peak of gable walls and make the vents as big as you can.
