Hello Everyone,
Got a question I just bought a new Modine Hot Dawg 45 overhead heater for my two car garage/shop. It worked for about 10 minutes and heated up great I then shut it off and went back out the next day and now only the fan will run. My plummer went back to his supply house and at first Modine wanted to blame it on the plummer but sent out a new board and igniter reluctently. He put in the board and igniter and still have the same problem only the fan comes on no power vent or ignition. The supply house said they have sold several of these units with little problems reported. Has anybody had any problems with these units and if so was it an uphill battle with Modine. I hope I can get this ironed out soon it is really cold up here and need my heater.
Thanx everyone

capetown,
Check the flame rollout switch, HP limit control, pressure switch, and the transformer.

My plummer checked all switches jumpered every possible thing he could think of, tranformer is putting out 25 volts, gas valve is open. I am hoping for a new unit has anybody else had problems like this.
Thanx
Is the LED diagnostic light on that Honeywell valve giving you a fault code? If so, what does it say?I presume when you say your guy jumpered eveything he could that he jumpered the pressure switch on the forced exhaust. Yes??If so, has anyone checked to confirm that the exhaust flue is currently open?Have you tried bypassing the high limit control?Have you tested and confirmed the proper milli-amps to the gas valve from the ignitor during attempt to fire?Is the chasis of this unit currently well grounded? (It is not impossible by any means that you have a bad Honeywell valve here, but I'd make damn sure the fault isn't elswhere before I made that claim and went thru the trouble of changing out for a new one.) Just to confirm......this is a hot surface ignition and not a flame rod sensor ignition? When you say "only the fan runs" do you mean the forced exhaust fan or the circulation fan?Does the ignitor even glow?If not, forget checking the return mill-amps to gas valve until you figure out what is stopping the current flow to ignitor. Check out the exhaust flue, jumper the pressure switch and jumper the high limit.
Knowledge is power, but only if applied in a timely fashion.

is it wired correctly....
hot, nuetral and ground where they are suppose to be... nothing else will work if this isn't correct...
the bond has to be solid too..
