Hi…….I am new to this and am writing to inquire about the possibility of having a family room addition added to my home. I read a newspaper article about doing it thru a modular construction company. Who can I speak to about this and do you know of any modular companies in New England that do this sort of thing. I have been told the quality is very good and the costs can be in the $130 per square foot range vs $200 for a conventionally stick built structure. Could someone educate me more on this possible project. Thanks and I look forwarfd to hearing from someone soon. Thanks again, Bud Noyes 508-740-1422

I have been building addons for 20 years and just don't see modular as feasible. You still have the demo and foundation and all the other crap that comes with making it align and match, so two days of framing for 3 guys and that is the only part you can trim. And can you trim that when you factor a crane lifting 3 walls and scheduling the crane for the weather...doesn't make sense.
