I just finished building a pole barn and today I noticed something that looks like mold on a few pieces of lumber on the inside framing of the barn. I’d say 99% of the lumber looks clean but there are a few pieces that have what looks like mold on them. Please see attached picture.
Should I ask the builder to replace these or is this par for the course? Is there anything to worry about here or will sheetrock covering it eliminate any chance of spreading around? Am I being paranoid?
Thanks for your time.

Try http://www.DIYCHATROOM.COM they are pretty active.
It doesn't look like normal mold to me, but rather staining that I've always associated with wood that was growing in a slighly swampy situation.
Gimme,
Looks like beetle killed pine to me but mold is more of a legal problem than a health risk. Look at risk asessment and you will quit driving.

Mold
If you suspect mold I would use a mixture of 3-1 Clorox and water and lightly scrub it with a bristle brush then clean with water.
Its a POLE BARN!
Framing wood almost always will have mold on it. Southern yellow pine not so much but the western softwoods like hemlock and fir
pretty much always have it. You can safely ignore it. Mold spores are everywhere. It's not possible to live and not breath in mold. Openinga bag of mulch will release millions of mold spores right in your face.
mold sanity
Thank you for a voice of sanity regarding mold. It is ubiquitous. We breath it daily in Florida. Unless you are severly immunosuppresed it is not a health threat. Most of the hysteria that I see in my Emergency Room is from neurotic hypochondriacs.
