In the previous post, it was stated that you cannot use 2 p-traps in sequence. In other words, run a p-trapped sing into the other sink after it is p-trapped. Now, what about having a bath tub p-trapped first and then run into the waste line of a toilet? Both have their own vent pipe. Is there a min/max distance that must be between these fixtures before they can be connected to the same line?
I have a friend who wants me to convert part of the closet that is attached to the a powder room into an area for a shower/tub. He’s tired of his 4 kids(all girls) always fighting over who is in the other bathroom when another needs to bathe. None of them want to use the powder room.

Toilets are internaly traped. That is the trap is in the fixture itself, not in the waste line, so the addition of another fixture,i.e. shower should not be a problem if the waste line is sized to handle it. The shower should be trapped beneath the floor drain and tied to the waste line and seperately vented to the main stack. Generally the vent pipe should start up within three feet of the trap.

That is how everything is planned to run. Just the previous post on p-traps started me thinking. Better ask now than have a problem later. Thanks, Brian
