Oh….The little side projects we get ourselves into!
So I told him….sure, I can fix that tombstone.
It’s white marble so I got a bag of white portland, white sand, and hydrated lime. Now about those mix ratios…..? Kind of forgot. Any thoughts? I need to replace some missing chunks. Wonder if I should paint on an acrylic binder where it adjoins the patch? Maybe use binder in the mix too?
Planning on epoxie and stainless rod (dowels)to hold the rest together. Anyone know a real good epoxie? PC-7 white? West system? Thoughts? Used West before a few times on wood and metal but don’t know where to get it anymore. Thoughts? Thoughts? Anyone?
Oh yea, and there’s a time factor too. Have to be done by Oct 1
Any helpful ideas would be great!
Thanks again and Be Well, PB

Try http://www.westsystem.com
You can get a list of local distributors.
*For an alternative source of epoxy, try Abatron. They make a number of products to rebuild wood, metal, and masonry building components. I have used the wood epoxy system with much success. They may have something that is already formulated to suit your needs. A tombstone is nuthing to play experimental chemist on, somehow it seems more ominous than the average kitchen remodel though I am not sure why. I think something like: may get you there. They are easy to find. Good luck as always.
*Thanks, went there and asked about using on stone.they haven't gotten back yet.Anybody have some thoughts on mix ratio for motar?PB
*phat.. we used abatron on some garage slab repairs..their kits are great.. and they have a lot of experience in the masonry repair lines..west is good for materials.. but abatron has the applications..and they can probably help with your ratios too..
