   If you don't like the look of a patch, can you use the existing opening and offset the downspout? If that makes it look funny then do the patch or replace the leg whatever makes you happy.

   Personally I wouldn't sweat the small stuff.

   I can be someone who sweats the small stuff. Good idea about offsetting the downspout. I'll look at it today.

   I off set it with a couple of 90s. funny thing at home dopot. According to the chart for the downspout parts the is a left and a right for the 90s so the seam is on the back but all they stock is one. So one of my 90s is right and the other has the seam showing. I guess nobody cares.

   I've noticed that too.

   Both the fact that they never stock left & right and that no one cares:o)

   You have 4 choices, seams on the sides, left and right, and you can special order seam on insdie bend and seam on outside bend for those who care. :)

   Show me an elbow, either A or B with a seam on the outside of the bend.  I honestly have not seen one, and I've seen and installed a LOT of elbows in the last 3 yrs.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

   I was just kidding rez. See that smiley face after the sentence? :)

   Since the other guy was telling him there were right and left seams so I made up the special ordered inside and outside seams.

   Ayup.  I wish some times there was an outside seam, but I've worked enough metal to know it ain't gonna stretch , only shrink when a seam is involved.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks
