It's too fragile to pull but you can push it?
Could you slip some 1x8 or 1x12s under each side pointing the direction you need to shift it, like a sled? Then push or pull the 1x's together. A few steel fence posts would make good rollers if you can get them underneath as well.
Why do you need to move it only 6 inches? Pesky neighbor or city official? just curious.
there are two sheds side by side.need too work on the roofs.need space inbetween the two to work.i have only 6 inches left on the decking to move it.that 6 inches would be just fine.the idea of the rollers is difficult due to the construction of the sides to base.i cannot pry upwrds to install the rollers because the way they attached the base to the sidewalls is very weak.isnt there a way to push it, screw .thanks jvl
Try using a come-a-long.
Run the cable under the shed to a 2x placed along the base. So, instead of pulling from a point in the front you pull the 2x against the entire back, spreading the force to the whole base.
solution found a ratcheting jack and laid it on its side.nailed a block of wood as a support for the base of the jack and begin ratcheting.moved the shed with no problem.
Thanks for the follow up!
