This should be an easy question for any plumbers in the group. I recently installed a new kitchen faucet. It has seperate hot and cold handles that both are fully on with a 1/4 turn. Now when I turn on either side I get 1 or 2 small thumps and a quick stutter in the water flow. Did I miss something on installation, and is there an easy fix for this. BTW, I never noticed the problem with the old faucet.
Thanks,

Cheap fix move the handles slower.
What you are getting is water hammer.
You can isntall sealed hammer arrestors, about $10 each at the big box stores.
If you have a sprayer, it might be leaking slightly if it doesn't shut off all the way. When you turn the water off, it (the leak in the sprayer) acts as a vent and allows the water to drain out of the fixture. Then when you turn the water back on, bang, water hammer.
Might replace the sprayer at the end of the hose. No need to replace the whole sprayer hose all the way back to the faucet.

Most likely it has a loose washer in the faucet & is vibrating when water is passing through at the right speed.
