I am looking for a nail gun. I am interested in one where it will do siding (up coming project) and framing. The siding is hardi board siding…does anyone have suggestions as to a good choice for nailer?
Thanks.

I use Senco SCN65 mostly for sheathing and decks, but you can use the gun for side wall shingles. Here is the site:http://senco.com/con_rem/ViewTool.aspx?toolid=15. I read a lot user saying that Hitachi is the best, I can't recommand it because "I dont use them". Good luck!!

It's about the only one on the market that performs double duty, IIRC. Great for siding, but I give it a B- for framing cuz it can't bury spikes into engineered lumber and only runs up to a 3" nail. I've had one for about 3 years now and it's been a great tool. While I use full size framers for framing, it gets a ton of use installing exterior trim and occasionally siding.
I thought bostich made a siding/framing gun?
I can't get there website to load at the moment to look though.
I know they make a coil siding nailer that shoots up to 2 1/2" nails IIRC, but I didn't know they make a siding/framer type gun. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though.
They make a siding nailer and a framing nailer that "does siding" too but its a framer, like the hitachi Nv83. You can use it for siding but at 8+ lbs., it would not be an easy day. I think some times bostitch refers to their siding nailer as a siding/framing nailer but it only goes up to 2 1/2"

Sorry! mess up here is the site http://senco.com/con_rem/ViewTool.aspx?toolid=15
By the way the gun stinks for toe nail, I use for assembly framing.
maybe you should look at geting two used guns, one for framing and one for siding. we use a roofing nailer for the siding and it is so nice and light. it would be quite possible to get the two for the same price as the one new. good luck
Max makes a high pressure framing/siding nailer gun that operates with a special compressor. The setup is buku bucks, I think around two grand for gun, hoses, and compressor. The gun is a coil style gun, very lightweight and nice. It is designed so nailing in engineered lumber is not a problem. A real sweet setup. That hitachi looks pretty nice.
