Hey there, I’m new at this and just hoping for a bit of advice from the experienced experts. My old joints can’t take a lot of pounding anymore and I’ve agreed to build a garage, I think I need to buy a nail shooter, I’ve looked at several and can get a good deal on a Bostitch clipped head nailer, and the nails for it are readily available around here in the hinterlands of South Dakota. I’m concerned tho, I’ve heard mumblings that clipped head nails don’t always meet code. Wondering if I should bite the bullet, pay the extra, and get the full round head nailer, and order in the nails I need. Any insights will be appreciated.

I don't know which framer to get but definitely do not get the Senco SC1 clip gun to fasten your handrails together unless you have been checked out by Larry!

Ask local building dept? Too simple? What kind of nails are available at the local yards? They know toooooooooo.

That's a good nailer. Just check with the local building dept to see if clipped heads are OK there. You can easily sell it again when you're done.
and don't mind these guys, Larry pollution is spreading all over the forum this week - inside joke
Good nailing!
