I’m going to be putting down 1/2″ ACX ply over 3/4″ ACX ply, the latter glued and screwed with 2″ deck screws to the (newly levelled) joists. Quick bonehead question: Can’t find 3d (1-1/4″) underlayment nails, would 16ga finish nails be just as good? At least that could go fast, I have a finish nailer….
As part of joist leveling, I had to use shims to level one of the new sisters due to a bonehead mistake on my part. The “shim” is a layer of wood strips stapled with narrow staples, I figured nails would blow the shim strips in two. Please let me know if there is a horrible mistake on my part.

The fin nails won't fly..go with 1 1/4 screws.

Ok thanks for the reality check. Any particular gauge of screw?
Stapling shims to joists: I'll be screwing down subfloor over it right away, so the staples just hold the mess in place until then. But just in case I am more out to lunch than usual.....
1 1/4 by no.6 oughtta do it..wouldn't hurt to glue with PL premium too...
