I have available about 1000bd. ft.of 4/4x12x14xold pine that was used for interior walls in an old structure. I need advice on using it. I have lightly planned a couple of pieces and it is beautiful — about 50% — heart — some worm holes in the sap wood — the sap wood is not doted. There is a small amout of cup in some of the boards — maybe 1/8″.
I would like to use it for flooring in a new house and / or furniture building.
I need wise counsel on the problems and the opportunities I might encounter with the above uses. How to deal with the cup, how to attach to the floor and then sand, do I plane it first, other???

1 remove all nails although this seems simple go over them twice then once more. Ruined a lot of good blades this way.
2 plane arch side up until flat, now you can either put the flat side down and treat the edge, nail and sand or plane the other side treat the edge and nail and sand, depending on the cup you may not want to remove too much material so skip the planing on the flip side.
3 treat the edge either a T&G or shiplap.
4Nail it to the floor if t&g or screw it if shiplap or both for a really good floor
5 Sand
6 finish
7 have a beer and admire your great floor
sounds like it will be nice
