Have a question about chimney diameter for a wood-burning stove: We were given a stove to use in our shop (a 2-car garage without the cars!). It’s not fancy or airtight — just a black iron box on legs, though it does have a blower built in. However, we have no smoke pipe or chimney. My question is, since it has an 8″ (round) opening coming out of the top, does this mean we need to use 8″ pipe for our chimney, or is it possible and safe to reduce that size to 6″??
Many thanks in advance for your help!
