Hi. Does anyone know where I can find reasonably priced 8′ interior doors in wood? They will need to be stain able so I can’t use the hardboard (mdf??) doors. I need about 24 so the pricing I’m finding ($500) is a bit prohibitive for this house. Thanks. KCF (Linda)

With a qty of 24, have you considered setting up a mini-assy line and making your own? You could buy some nice production tools for the savings over the $12,000 you reference.
*Have you thought about checking with architectural salvage shops? 8' was a common size in days of yore.. Even if you have to have them stripped you might find that you'll get a better door for a lot less money, and oh so much more character.. Ask around and see if any big old mansions are coming down. It would take a big house to come up with 24 doors, unless you don't mind different styles. You will, of course, have to build 24 custom jambs, and possibly 24 interior mortise sets..
*$500 each is not that bad a price, if they're frame and panel. A 7/4 door, 32x96 will take about 40-45 bd ft of wood, if there's hardly any waste, so wood cost will be a substantial percentage of the total.
