About 1/16 of a mile down the street is a metal covered shed that has come up for sale. The shed is a basic Wick wood frame building 72′ by 36′ by 16′ high.
I’m considering buying it but don’t know what a ballpark figure is for a new one.
It has a good cement floor. Electric meter and some basic wiring for lights and a few outlets. 1 large over head door (14′ x 14′), one walk thru door, colored tin, gutters, and no windows, no insulation.
Overall it’s in good shape but I don’t want to pay what I could build one for as I already have some land several miles away I could build one on.
I’m a woodworker not a builder so I’m not very informed on new construction like this.
Any guesstimates and advice would be appreciated.

Are you buying it in place on the land or planning to dimantle and move it?
Were you from? fill out your profile. How much land? whats land worth in your local? Zoning? can you use the land for future use ? Water, sewer? Driving from home to a shop vs down the road gets tired real fast.
Googlr steel buidlings and see what a replacment building would be worth, erected with permits and all. Phone utility and ask what a new service is worth? add your time and frustration.
You're right the convenience of being less than a minute walk away is worth a lot. I used to walk further than that to eat 2 times a day, not to mention all the walking I did choring and trapping on the farm. Heck the short distance has the benefit of being too far for the wife and kids to bother me for every little thing, HA! All utilities are available at the close location but expensive to connect and of course come with a monthly cost. I'm thinking I would just have electric and gas. I can keep a bucket and tree handy for other emergencies like the old timers did their whole life.Building on the land I already own some ways away would only have electric available, but I could use propane for heat as cheap as natural gas in my area.
I would be buying it in place on the existing land which is only 50' x 100'. Land where the shed is goes for about $4 per square foot or about $20,000. The shed has it's own electric meter in place and sewer, natural gas and water are available but monthly fees run about $100 per month even if not used.I'm not factoring the land in much other than the tax picture as the land will hold or appreciate in value over time. On the other hand taxes where the existing shed is are very high and market value assessed. The Land further away where I could build is only worth $1000 to $1200 per acre and is taxed using "use value appraisal" which is much cheaper.
