I’m looking for a high quality chrome “L” shaped 60″x30″ shower curtain rod that will allow a continuous sweep without interference from the ceiling bracket. I am aware of the “Trak Rod” system but am not impressed with its look or quality. I am finishing a high end bathroom and the client has requested a continous sweep and a google search has as yet yeilded nothing. Any thoughts? I’ve been on many of the common plumbing supply sites.
Thanks.

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

Let me know when you find one!
Not long ago, I removed our 70 year-old American Standard tub with one rounded end. To replace it, I installed a regular 5' tub and built a low wall to finish the end (It's not easy or affordable to find a round-end tub.) The old L-shaped brass curtain rod was very functional and strong, but the finish was shot. We found a similar 2-piece steel version in the J.C. Penny catalog. It's been sagging since day one. I plan to get the original rod re-finished at a metal-finishing shop. It will be worth the cost, since they don't make 'em like they used to.

I had a similar situation a while back and couldn't find one either. If you find a source please post it. Sorry. DanT
Needed similar a few years ago. Rod for custom tub, with 14 inch "el" on 4.5 ft span that was strong enough so that if a 7YO happened to want to hang on it it would not break/bend. No such off the shelf animal found.
Ended up bending a piece of 3/4 inch sch 40 stainless pipe and welding brackets to the end. Hardest part to get it to look good for a high end client is the polishing of the welds. If satisfied with a matte SS finish, lots easier. Only about $5 in material but and hour and a half bending/welding/polishing. Don't forget substantial blocking in the wall to attach to. Lots more trouble if you don't have your own welding setup.
Thanks for your reply. The bathroom is all high polished chrome. Looks like she will have to compromise.
I was sure somewhere I saw a rod with a "c" cross section and hook type roller hangers somewhere, all chrome with ball bearings... oh well
Thanks.
Here is a simple stainless hangers/painted "rod" that can be bent by the supplier to any sweeping shape. Am not sure if it foots the bill, but a good window treatment supplier should be able to offer some alternatives. This supplier does his own installs, often working commercial, hence this "hospital" looking system. However, the designer and homeowner liked this application. Function over form, not looking too hokey while you're at it. Best of luck in finding what you want.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Thanks for your suggestion. From the photo it looks as if it must be mounted continually from the ceiling. Is this so? I would need it to be suspended so that a standard curtain would suffice.
Once again thanks.
You certainly could use stainless or powdercoated down rods to hang the track at the proper ht for your curtain. Your supplier could possibly have a more decorative channel for the same slider mounts...........or, from the ceiling mount, you adjust your light chain "like" hanger length. The chain slips into the hook for the curtain just like light chain clips. Same goes for the slide swivel that runs in the channel. The clips and hooks were all stainless, cept for the slide swivel which is plastic.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

Thanks, tried it.
Find a boatyard. Major lakes and harbors are good. Find a shop that produces Bimini tops for boats. They will carry stainless tubing and flanges that can be bent to shape and welded up, they will know who can nicely TIG them for you, to make a dandy shower rod. Unlike chromed ones they won't rust up quickly after exposure to moisture and chemicals. Not immune just more resistant.
At 'Grace Brown Interiors' I saw a curtain rod (channel type) that was bendable. Tried to go to mfg. website but was under construction.
