Replacing (finally) the crummy contractor-installed back-lit suspended ceiling in our kitchen. (Will post some pictures later, maybe.) Want to replace the original polystyrene panels (yellow badly and are really fragile) with acrylic ones. Plus, the wife wants them to be pure frosted white, not the lenticular or pebble finish that most such panels have.
No chance of finding anything like that in this town — lucky to even be able to find replacement PS panels.
Several months ago I had searched out a couple of likely sources for the acrylic panels on the Internet and bookmarked them, but the bookmarks got lost. (Wife “cleaned things up”, I think, but I’m not about to say anything.)
So, does anyone know of a good supplier of these panels? I’ll be wanting 2×2 panels, acrylic, frosted white.

Go to a glass shop. We sold all types of acrylic.
If what you need are translucent white plastic panels, check with the local sign guy. He's likely to have cast off bits and remnants from previous signs. The trickier part will be getting peices of a uniform size--but if you ask nice, he might sell you the plain white stock for a decent price (I got 2 dozen 23.875 x 47.875 translucent white sheets off a local sign guy for 12% over wholesale; but it was slow time for him, too).
Try these folks. http://www.curbell.com/plastics.php3
