New arbor bearings for circular saw
Has anyone attempted this? Have an old (my guess 10 years) hand-me-down Skil circ saw that’s been good to me, but is making alot of noise and has visibly loose arbor bearings. Any chance I can find bearings and replace them (DIY) at a reasonable cost?
Thanks, PJ

Look in the phone book under Bearings. Take the ones from your saw to them and they will get the info off the bearing and get the same or equivalent. If there are no markings on them they will measure them and give you what you need. They will be cheaper by quite a bit. As a comparison I needed front wheel bearings for my import truck. Dealer was $180 for both sides. Bearing supplier was $60.
I had it done at my tool repair store, I don't do that stuff, it usually don't work as good as when I took it in!
