In the planning stages of a new bath above finished space. Toilet & shower will be back to back with existing bath to share the “wet” wall. The sink will be on the far side if the bath. I will need to run the sink drain about 8′ across (through) the existing floor joists. Based on the span, sizing & loading, I can bore ~2″ dia holes in the floor joists. Notching is not an option. So here is the question: Is it customary to cut the 8′ long sink drain pipe into small lengths to fit them in and end up with a several glued connections or is there some other resonable technique to getting the drain pipe in?
Thanks

Yep. A bunch of sections. Just don't get careless with the glue.
