Scooter;
I just put a new 50″ Bisemier fence on my 1981 contractors saw, with and updated with a 3 horse motor, and am in love again. The new Delta unisaw has a neat feature for arbor alingment, it has four allen screws outside of the cabinet, making adjustments too easy for words. The unisaw is still an excellent choice.

I just bought a platinum series contractor saw from delta. Its a nice saw but I will agree with Tom that the quality of their products have gone south a bit.

I spending more time adjusting my 15 year old Delta table saw lately, and would rather pop the big bucks and just buy a new one. I really liked my old Delta.
I'm looking at the same old Model 10 Contractors Saw, but with an upgrade to a better fence and a right hand table extension.
Has anyone purchased new Delta's recently and what are your experiences?
*All I know is their quality is somewhat lesser nowdays, and they merged with PC as rumor has it.

Scooter,
You might consider breaking down your old saw and putting it back together with a few new parts. I had a Unisaw that caught fire once. We ordered new parts from Porter Cable and rebuilt the whole thing. It's still the main saw in our shop. Works great.
The new Delta 10" for the year 2000 is junk in my opinion.
Put a new fence and a bigger motor on your old saw like Mr. Bean did and you won't be sorry.
