My name is Eric Oshrin. I’m a CAD Draftsman and i design mostly custom homes. I’ve drawn a little of most things and a lot of not many things except “mountain homes”. I’m always looking for help from contractors, so that i can draw it the way you want it drawn.

Thank you all for welcoming me. If you don't see a reply from me right away, It"s because I don't have time to get on here that often. I'm a single father of 2 children who's mother has been out of the picture for about 3 years now. so they keep me running every day.
Hey and welcome.
At least you have your priorities in order..........for now!
Once you become addicted to this place like the rest of us, those kids of yours will be having a party!
And, your not alone in that. Stick around; there are LOTS of stories here.
"When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking." — Sherlock Holmes, 1896
ah!Do you get to work from home mostly to help with that situation then?

No one should regard themselve as "God's gift to man." But rather a mere man whos gifts are from God.
Welcome!
I love to do detailed design & prints with Autocad (not LT). But like to do preliminary thinking with Home Designer a cheap Chief spin-off. It's faster for thinking about alternatives and easier to show to customers who can't visualize from line drawings.
Others here swear by other programs. But you have 2 hats; if the customer can't visualize it's hard to sell. OTOH, you need prints good enough that there is no ambiguity come hammer & saw time.

It would be nice to have that communication. I had a set of drawings once that left me with a 14" rise for one step of a staircase. I had just enough room to build legal winders and no sympathy from the designer.
Welcome aboard. BTW keep you thick skin handy, some here may seem harsh but its all in fun.
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
