Greetings To You,
In line with my arrangements of relocating to your country and having paid
for my house already, i am looking for an experienced company to help me
with the remodeling design of my Kitchen and bathrooms. Although my new
house is in the same state with you i would like to know if you have
particular area/county your services cover.
It’s a 5 Bedroom House w/ 3 Baths and 2 Large Kitchens.
please confirm if you can handle this and i
will reply with more information/clarifications.

I have no website and am not listed on the various company referral sites.
About all I have in public is my RRP certification listed on the EPA website.
Seems odd someone would pick up a referral from one of my customers and not make note of it.

Not obvious what the scam might be, and it's not out of the question that someone might even get a referral here. But of course it's highly suspicious, especially since the guy is "James Hamilton" but obviously is not a native English speaker.
I'd almost be inclined to string him along, just to find out what the scam is.
beats me.......
but the email came direct to me with a cc to himself. It did not come via this site.
I'm the kind of person that pushes the NO button when prompted-"are you sure you wanna do this?"................
So at the risk of he/they knowing they found an email recipient that is breathing, I'd be hesitant to reply.
If I did, I'm thinking the next step in a scam would be him wanting to send a retainer to my bank account...............
Calvin,
This is a scam and has been discussed at Contractor Talk. Here's a copy .

Well, sum bich
the one guy is evidently shacking up with another male significant other and they're both moving here.
They must sure like to cook.
Still, it would be interesting to know what the scam is. I suppose it's a mundane "deposit" scheme, but it could be more.
(And I'm reminded of a case about 5 years back where some guy in Sweden, I think, kept a Nigerian going for months, always fumbling when he was supposed to get a letter of credit or whatever. ("Gee, I went to get the letter yesterday but it was a bank holiday" -- that sort of thing.) He posted all the correspondence on a blog with thousands of people following it, and the Nigerian never caught on.)
Dan,
They try to get your credit card number.
I remember the reverse 409 scam. The Church of the Fish.

You know, lately I've been getting several "come on's" from job referral services (like angies list but not her specifically). I just junk them knowing by the subject line what they probably contain.
I have never rcvd. one referring to FHB.
I know that several Lead Safe companies selling the products, manuals etc mine the EPA site's listing of compliant contractors as I've been on the mailing list of several for the past few yrs w/o ever having searched or visited them.
The plot thickens.
Dunno, but that site was deleted on July 23rd.
The funny part is they usually make these scams much more outrageous. "I have to move $10 million dollars out of my country and will pay you a 10% fee...."
Everyone says who would be so foolish to believe such a thing....and that is what the scammers really want. By making the scams completely stupid, the scams self select only the absolutely dumbest people who are most likely to be conned. They don't want a reply from people who are likely to detect the scam so they know going in if you reply you are a good prospect to cough up the dough.
and here I thought the ............
26k security bill was outrageous.
Guess I should be thankful I almost didn't fall for a much worse ending.......................
