"More than any time in history mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness, the other to total extinction. Let us pray that we have the wisdom to choose correctly."
Woody Allen
*Geez Joe, it doesn't bother me.... but then.. I haven't been here 'fer while. Have a Happy Holiday:)
*I too prefer the old format.
*As do I. Seems like just when I get used to the current format, I've got to figure out a new one.Pete
*If someone somewhere did make a decision to cancel the 'reply' feature, maybe to preempt flame wars, I think that's a really shortsighted policy. The reply function and the outline added a great deal to the forum when it was introduced and the occasional outbreak is a small price to pay for the ability to take part in this huge conversation. I hope it is just some person at the host site who is not listening to the fact that EVERYONE on EVERY board is unhappy with this change, and wants it reversed. So why isn't it being reversed?
*WE NEED THE ABILITY TO REPLY DIRECTLY UNDER THE POST!Plain and simple. Why tinker with the format? Someone from Taunton please explain why. Andy, I know you're busy with deadlines now, is there no one else to explain?John
*JoeOne thing I realy hate about the new format is that once I click on a discussion like this one, it doesn't show the new replys anymore. It used to be that when I came back into a discussion the following day, new replies were marked with a red "new". Bring back the old look and format.Vince
*I agree Joe,Andy, please return us to the old format,Gabe
*One more vote for returning to previous format. Andy you wanted our opinion on killing DIY & Bullsh*t, now please consider our opinions on old format.
*New and improved it ain't. Back to before please. Joe H
*Yup, it's bad alright. I don't know why the boards are doing this; it isn't something that we've asked for. Several times last week our tech wizard, Larry, changed it back to the original format. Our web host then changed the format again. The really bad news is that I won't be able to request a change until Tuesday. Hope that you can live with the status quo until then.Andy
*AndyThis format is so incredibly stupid, and counterproductive, I can't imagine anyone being stunned enough to actually set it up this way on purpose. In another thread PhillGiles opined that maybe some techwanker summer employee screwed with it before leaving to go back to school. Techie humour??Your Ca. Sysops do not reply to emails. The fact that you couldn't straighten this out on Friday suggests that they don't acknowledge i your mail either.Seems like the tail is wagging the dog here. Time to regain control! The dweebs are workin for you!!!I'm outa here!! No time for this kind of foolishness!!-pm
*Vince, when you enter the discussion area choose 'LOG-IN', enter your name and password. You'll be re-directed back to the board with the red "new" tags on each subject.Michael Eckert
*b TVMDCYeah! Here's for the old format!Bill Pickard
*Andy, here's another vote for a return to what we've come to appreciate as a tool for direct communication with specific posting parties... Now, speaking of parties, are you gonna take some time off this weekend, or what?Regards, Steve
*Andy, what's weird is that it is working in the About Cooks Talk folder--but nowhere else that I've noticed. I agree w/Joe, but I've already voted twice in CT :)
*Isn't it nice to have something we can all agree on? I don't like this either.Rich Beckman
*If you don't put it back the way it was, I'm going to post on the "Bullsh*t" thread.
*I don't know that anyones gives one hoot in a hayfield, but I don't spend much time here anymore. When I do visit, it seems like I'm in a foreign country. Why tinker with things that work?
*Gotta agree with Joe and the rest....This sucks. Put it back the way it was.James DuHamel
*I was wondering what was going on. Haven't been here for a week and half. I can see the reply button so I tested it. Didn't work, so I deleted the post.Old format would be nice.Gaby
*One more vote for the old format, Maybe I am stepping out of bounds here, but like it was said before, y'all pay to have your site like you request it, tell them Californicators to do their damn job like they are told, all of us have to jump when the money man says so.flatch
*Guys,I think if you keep the outline format on it shows new messages in red,and when you click on them it gives you all the messages in the old format with replys where there ment to be and new ones marked in red.Vince
*Ok, That doesn't seem to work any more either.Vince
*Another vote for the old. LJ
*Hello Everyone!I concur.Hope this helps.alan joseph [email protected]: This post is on old format. I thought I figured out that new, but now old, system by going to last post on the string and then clicking all messages. Dont need that information now, do we?
*MikeI always log in with my name & password everytime. I think that should be the only way one should use a board such as this.Vince
*Yep, this suck's. Change it back, please.
*I agree. Give it back. Please.
*Another vote for the old format. I don't adjust well to learning new things anymore. Skip
